Do you want to become a certified Ski or Snowboard Instructor?

The Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, (CSIA), The Professional Ski Instructors of Canada, (PSIC) and the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors, (CASI), are the three governing bodies in Canada that certify instructors. They all have 4 levels of instruction and they begin at level 1.

Confident parallel skier comfortable on most slopes and willing to change their skiing technique and adapt, or confident Snowboarder with centered stance, fluid, and mobile riding on most slopes and willing to change their snowboarding technique and adapt. The course focuses on skiing/boarding technical skills as well as teaching skills. No previous teaching experience is required and the individual does need to show the ability to provide clear communication. They need to be adaptable and creative and be able to modify a lesson plan to suit the needs of the student. Minimum age varies per organization, please check their requirements.

The CSIA & PSIC courses listed below are hosted at Batawa Ski Hill. The CASI (Snowboard) course is hosted at Brimacombe. If those dates don’t work for you, please look for alternative dates/locations on the CSIA, OSIC and CASI websites.

CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance)
Level 1 Certification: 3 day course. December 26, 27, 28, 2025 at Batawa Ski Hill. 9:30am - 3:30pm

Level 1 Ski Certification – 3 day course. January 2, 3, 4, 2026 at Batawa Ski Hill. 8:30am - approx. 3:00pm
