dino dig

The dino dig is free and open to the public

Please bring your own digging tools. You may also want to bring blank paper and pencils/crayons for fossil rubbing.

Located at the edge of the Batawa Ski Hill parking lot and accessible by trail from the Children’s Natural Playground, the Dino Dig is a fun, interactive play area for the youngsters in your family. Surrounded by trees and a natural landscape, young, curious palaeontologists can scale the horns of a triceratops, crawl inside a giant dino-egg, or make their own fossil rubbings at our interactive research station. But nothing quite compares to discovering “Walter”, a 40-foot replica Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton.

The Dino Dig is suitable for digging when the ground is not frozen or snow covered. The features surrounding the Dig area are suitable for year round outdoor play.
