Come join this Introduction to Ski Instruction session and learn about the opportunities and adventure that exists when you choose a ski instructor career path! This 3-hour session will include 2.5 hours on snow (come ready to ski) followed by a 30-minute indoor discussion. 
This session takes place from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

 

 

Do you want to become a certified Ski or Snowboard Instructor?

The Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, (CSIA), The Professional Ski Instructors of Canada, (PSIC) and the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors, (CASI), are the three governing bodies in Canada that certify instructors. They all have 4 levels of instruction and they begin at level 1.

They all require a minimum age of 14. Strong parallel skier comfortable on most slopes and willing to change their skiing technique and adapt, or strong Snowboarder with centered stance, fluid, and mobile riding on most slopes and willing to change their snowboarding technique and adapt. The course focuses on skiing/boarding technical skills as well as teaching skills. No previous teaching experience is required and the individual does need to show the ability to provide clear communication. They need to be adaptable and creative and be able to modify a lesson plan to suit the needs of the student.
