batawa Property

Family, recreation and a love for nature is what attracts people to the Village of Batawa. There are numerous trails on the property that lead from Highway 33, link the Lower Trent Trail and wind their way through the Village, the Dino Dig, Batawa Ski Hill and beyond.

In the centre of the Village is the Children’s Natural Playground. The Playground offers a variety of elements, sure to delight the younger children in your family.

The Dino Dig is adjacent to the Ski Hill and can be reached by road or trail via the Playground.

The Batawa Development Corporation (BDC), own approximately 1500 acres of land surrounding the Village of Batawa. The property is situated between Bernard Long Road, to the South, and the town of Frankford to the North. These lands are primarily designated as Area of Natural and Scientific Interest (ANSI). As such, the goal is to nurture the habitat for local flora and fauna and to provide access for visitors to enjoy the nature that surrounds us, by bicycle, hike or snowshoe.

Several trails have been created around the Batawa Ski Hill area. Future trail development is in progress which will expand the hiking and mountain biking network throughout the property in years to come.

Batawa Ski Hill has entered into an agreement with Quinte Mountain Bike Club (QuinteMTB). Quinte MTB has taken on stewardship of the trails on the BDC property. This relationship is very exciting for everyone involved as it will ensure that the trails will be maintained to the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) multi-use trail standards and that future trail development will continue.

In consideration of the sensitivity of some of our plants and animals, we ask that all visitors respect the beauty of the property and the following rules must apply:
