Batawa Ski Hill works hard to provide a recreational day camp experience with a traditional summer camp feel, based in a unique natural outdoor setting, for kids ranging in age from 6 to 12. Our camp staff, also known as Campologists, is comprised of individuals who are hardworking, child-centered, safe and professional. Because of the lasting impact of camp, we aim to hire a squad of individuals who can actively contribute to providing campers with a whimsical and memorable experience all summer long.
Our Camp Counsellors (4 positions available)
Our campology team is the heart and soul of camp. A tireless magic-maker, this team member is at least 17 years of age that has previous experience working with kids, a love for the outdoors, is first aid certified and is willing to give their all for an average of 40 hours per week for seven weeks starting late June/early July.
These individuals have the heart of a child and the head of a leader, can wipe away tears, make people laugh (or at least willing to try) and can withstand a strong dose of smelly feet. They are comfortable speaking in front of a group, commanding attention and leading songs (ukulele skills are a bonus but not required!). Counsellors are willing to have water dumped on them daily, enjoy mud in their shoes, glue in their hair and paint on their clothes. Our team needs individuals who are planners; with safety in mind and who can be one-step-ahead of a challenging camper.
We cherish tradition, love new ideas and are looking for people with the energy and creativity to make them happen. If you fit this description or even some of it, but are willing to learn and want to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment this summer, we would love to meet you!
Compensation is up to $560/week. An application can be submitted in any creative or standard way you wish that reflects your unique character (video, flash mob or sky writing are encouraged) but must have a resume accompany it and should be directed to Morgan at email@example.com or 99 Ski Club Lane, Batawa, K0K 1E0, (we will not accept applications through Facebook). Please give Morgan a call at the hill if you want to know more about the position before you apply! 613.398.6568 x 205
Our Resident Bike Expert
Our programs have always incorporated a biking element, which has become an important and popular aspect of our camp culture. With the new development of our trails and the addition of a pump track this summer, we have decided to kick things up a notch!
We are looking for a trail riding enthusiast who meets the description of our counsellor position with an added love and knowledge of mountain biking, and more than an ounce of organization skills. This person should know their way around bike maintenance and repair but also be able to teach it to the next generation!
We are hoping to work collaboratively with our entire campology team and local bike gurus to develop a unique and exciting bike program that will bring a special magic to our camps. Are you that person? Not sure but want to know more? We would love to meet with you!
This role will average 40 hours per week for seven plus weeks starting in late June. Compensation is up to $560/week. An application can be submitted in any creative or standard way you wish (video, flash mob or sky writing are encouraged) but must have a resume accompany it and should be directed to Morgan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 99 Ski Club Lane, Batawa, K0K 1E0. Please give Morgan a call at the hill if you want to know more about the position before you apply! 613.398.6568 x 205.
